I am Kim, a Laurelhurst resident living on 49th Avenue NE and NE 50th Street. 

On August 29th and August 31st, my two cats Audria and Feynman, became missing one after another. I've been putting out posters in the neighborhood.  

Audria is a black and white cat with a pink collar and has been missing since August 29th. Feynman is an orange tabby with no collar and has been missing since August 31st.

Our cat, Tiger, got out of our house and is still missing. Her last location was 55th Avenue NE at NE 44th Street. 

Tiger is a tortoise shell Maine coon with green eyes. She looks obese but her girth is actually mostly hair. She acts semi-feral (adopted from shelter) and runs away from everyone except for my husband.  

She has a collar on with her name, but might not let anyone get close enough to touch her or look at it.

Have You Seen Two Missing Cats Last Seen On Ivanhoe Place NE?

We live in the 5000 block of Ivanhoe Place NE.   

Our two Siberian indoor/outdoor cats, Luka and Lana, who are brother and sister, have been missing since Friday night.   

They tend to roam the neighborhood together and are friendly so we are wondering if they are locked in a garage somewhere.  We are worried sick.

Our white, black and grey tabby cat has been missing for five days. He was last seen at 51st Avenue NE and NE 45th Street.  

His name is Leo. He has a chip but does not wear a collar.

Missing Persian Cat Around 48th Avenue NE And NE 47th Street

Our cat has gone missing since the evening of 19 March around the area we live at  48th Avenue NE and NE 47th Street. 

"Shadow" is a black, grey and white Persian male with a lion type cut, fluffy mane, legs and tail, black face and paws, no front claws.  Hhis tongue typically sticks out of the front of his mouth. 

He is very friendly but most likely scared.  

Shadow was seen and almost captured on March 19th on the corner of 50th Avenue NE and NE 47th Street. 

I have some very distraught children.  I’m not so happy either and would like to find him asap.

Missing Black Cat Near Laurelhurst Elementary School

Skittles has been missing since Tuesday, October 13th and was last seen in front of our house on the 4700 block of 48th Avenue NE.   

She has black fur and has green eyes. She is very shy with a low voice and answers to the name Skittles. She likes warm places like blankets etc.  

She knows the area around Laurelhurst School and Katterman's but usually never goes that far. 

She is not wearing a collar at the moment, keeps on taking the collar off. She has a chip embedded in her neck. and has a small patch of white hair under her chin, not clearly visible).

Henry, my cat, has been missing from the 4700 block of 48th Avenue NE since Friday, February 14 about 9pm.

He is a large grey/black tabby.  He is very friendly and is known to walk in people's houses, so he may be stuck in a house or garage.  Please check your basement, garage or shed.

He is not currently wearing his collar, which we have since found on our roof, but he is chipped.

I've been going door to door with flyers, and remain hopeful that he'll come home this weekend when families return from winter break and open their garages.

Missing Persian Cat



 

We received this email about a cat that has been missing over a week:

We live on Surber Drive and are missing our beloved cat, Edie. She is a cream colored Persian and was seen last week just south of Laurelhurst Park. She has been spotted again a few days ago on East Laurelhurst Drive. 

She is all turned around and doesn’t know how to get home. So please keep an eye out for her.

Lost Cat Near St. Stephens Church

Here is information we received:

85 year old Grandma lost her petite gray/black Manx (no tail) cat on August 21st one block from St Stephens Church.   

The cat is very afraid of people but she is Grandma's best friend, who was only visiting Laurelhurst family for two days when the cat got out.  

Call 523-6355 if you see her or can catch her (won't come if called).

Have You Seen A Missing Black Cat Last Seen Near Sun Park

Paul, who lives a few houses north of Sun Park (corner of NE 47th Street and 47th Avenue NE), sent us email about his black cat, Tori, missing since June 17th.

Paul said she usually doesn’t travel far from home and stays within a block or two.  

Tori is a black tortoise female with tan stripe on her nose.

Interesting Lost Cat Update and Reader Suggestion for Cat Rescue Tree Service

Rudy, the lost cat who we posted about last week, was found about 24 hours later. He was hiding underneath a tarp in the reader's next door neighbor's yard, where he ran when a thunderstorm hit.

Another reader wrote in that her cat also recently went missing and ended up being trapped in her neighbor's basement for two weeks, losing 10% of this body weight.

The readers wanted to let tothers know that it is common for cats to get trapped in homes, usually basements or garages, and that cats stray 5 houses at the most from their homes. So she suggests that neighbors ask eachother to check their homes when cats go missing. She added "Pets are a neutral way of making contact with our neighbors."

The reader also suggesed checking out the website, Cat In A Tree Rescue, started by an IS Certified Arborists, Dan Kraus, who has traveled all over the Pacific Northwest and has rescued almost 750 cats from trees, as well as other small animals.

The website lists arborists, and skillled tree climbers locally and elsewhere, who climb trees safely, and without harming the tree, to retreive cats. The reader said she has learned from experience that firemen, police and other City departments don't do this.

And another reader cautioned others that "coyotes have been seen in Laurelhurst so if cats are missing, that can be a cause."

Reward For 11 Year Old Missing Cat

Barbara, a reader who lives in the 3800 block of  46th Avenue NE, sent us email frantically looking for her lost cat who disappeared yesterday.

She writes:

Rudy, our family cat of 11 years is missing since yesterday, April 6th.

He is 11 years old, a big cat in good health.  He is an indoor cat, has no collar (but has a chip).
