Calling All Volunteers For Salmon Bake Planning Meeting On Monday

Salmon Bake last year

Cheryl, with Seattle Parks and Recreation, sent us email that a date has now been set for the annual Laurelhurst Community Salmon Bake held annually in the park.

This year the popular event will happen a bit later, on Thursday, September 8th.

This year's Salmon Bake will be completely volunteer driven, as there is no longer a dedicated Laurelhurst Community Center Staff putting on so many of the fun events the neighborhood enjoyed in the past due to budget cuts.

Last year, several hundred people showed up to enjoy the Salmon Bake, with Carnival type games and prizes for children,  face painting, a balloon man, bouncy house, delicious salmon dinner, and everyone dancing to the live music.

As with this year's Easter Egg Hunt, success of the event depends on Laurelhurst residents getting involved with the Salmon Bake and organizing and staffing it.

Help Make it Happen!
Due to many planning issues, the date of the annual Salmon bake has been moved to Thursday, September 8.  A great way to end the summer!

We are seeking volunteers who would like to have an active part in the planning and production of this years event at Laurelhurst Community Center.

If you are able to help, please attend a planning meeting on Monday, July 11 at the Community Center from 6 -7pm.

All are welcome!  We need ideas, support and help!
