Big Day Of Play, All Ages Event At Magnuson On Saturday


Seattle Parks and Recreation is hosting Big Day of Play at Magnuson Park, on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The event is "a day packed with activities that help families be active together" as part of Seattle Parks’ Healthy Parks, Healthy You Initiative. It is an all ages event and is free. 

There are activities for all ages - from tots to seniors, as well as pportunities for families to play together as well.

The day starts with a Fun Run, 3 on 3 and 4 on the floor basketball, and samples of activities from Parks’ community centers.

Some other highlights of the day are:    
  • A main stage featuring Recess Monkey, the Seattle Storm Dance Troupe, Flamingo Dancers, Glee, Hawaiian dance, Zumba, a drill team, hip hop dance, Capoeira, and tap dance.       
  • A dog agility course and vendors
  • Bounce houses
  • A station for hitting golf balls

Activity Booths for players of all ages:
  • Tots:    Outdoor play gym, tot tumbling
  • 5-10:    Obstacle course, “So you think you can dance?,” Legos
  • 11-14: Wii Dance, Fitness Testing
  • 15-19:  4-H display, challenge course
  • Adults 19 and older:    Twisted Yoga, Zumba
  • Seniors 55 and better: Fly casting, bike helmet sales, dance         

Aquatic activities – paddleboarding, catamaran sailing, canoeing, kayaking, tours of the Seattle Police Harbor Patrol fireboat, activities in a small wading pool, and swimming at the lifeguarded swim beach

Vendor booths:
  • Go Girl Go – 1-minute fitness challenge
  • American Heart Association – Jump roping skills training and activities
  • Chair massages
  • FrisbeeDisc NW
  • Seattle Tilth – Master Composters       

And there will be food from Maximus Minimus pulled pork sandwiches, Kaosamai Thai Restaurant, or Jamba Juice.

Also included wil be PCC where participants can earn a “PCC Buck” at the activity booths, redeemable at the PCC booth for food.
