The 50th annual popular Laurelhurst Salmon Bake is happening Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m at the Laurelhurst park.
Along with the feautured salmon dinner, there will as always be the popular kids’ carnival with various games and prizes for children, face painting, bouncy house and more.
The menu includes grilled wild salmon, shellfish chowder, minted watermelon-feta salad, organic coriander-dill kraut, tangy coleslaw, fresh rolls and fudge brownies for a cost of $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Hot dog or garden burger is $5 and clam chowder or steamed mussels is $4.
The live entertainment will once again be the Hans Brehmer Quartet, who played last year and people enjoyed dancing to.
Several community businesses, along with the Laurelhurst Community Center and Lifelong Recreation programs have partnered to make this another sucessful and fun event for the neighborhood.
Last year's Salmon Bake was a huge success despite the severe Parks and Recreation budget impacts, thanks to the many community volunteers who helped with planning, setting up, serving and cleaning up.
This year volunteers are once again needed to make the event run smoothly for the community. To help with set up, clean up or staffing this year’s event, please call Cara at Laurelhurst Community Center, 206-615-0617 or email her at cara.brown@seattle.gov.
