Donations Being Accepted At The Community Center For End Summer Hunger Food Drive
Jennifer, a Blog reader, would like to let the community to know that there is a food drive currently going on, through August 17th, for Hopelink, and the drop-off location is right in the neighborhood at the Laurelhurst Community Center.
The campaign called, End Summer Hunger, to feed local kids, is accepting donations for non-perishable food and household supplies between 9-2pm, Monday-Friday.
Jennifer got involved as she said she and "her family wanted to do something for kids in the community and this is a great way for kids to get involved in reaching out to the community during the long days of summer."
Hopelink serves homeless and low income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities in the area; promoting self-sufficiency while providing much needed support.
"Summer break for some local children can mean empty stomachs when school lunch programs are on hiatus. Help us support Hopelink’s End Summer Hunger program and fight back hunger pains with any size food and supply donation this summer," Jennifer wrote to us.
Here is a list of urgently needed items:
