Seattle World’s Fair 50th Anniversary Slide Show And Book Presentation At NE Library Tonight
Tomorrow from 6:30- 8pm, the Northeast Branch of Seattle Public Library (6801 35th Avenue N.E.) is having a Seattle World’s Fair 50th Anniversary Slide Show & Book Presentation.
The community can share their stories at the slide show and talk on The Future Remembered: The 1962 Seattle World's Fair and Its Legacy by authors Paula Becker and Alan J. Stein. The book will be available for sale. More information is available here or by calling (206) 375-0012.
Also in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Century 21, MOHAI invites the public to explore the memories, memorabilia and myths of Seattle’s 1962 World’s Fair through a series of free community-wide workshops, presented by MOHAI in partnership with The Seattle Public Library, King County Library System, and the Seattle Center Foundation.

The Seattle Public Library is also offering online images and documents from the World's Fair on the Seattle Public Library’s website by selecting “Library Collection” from the top menu, then “Special Collections” tab on the left.
The Century 21 Exposition Digital Collection includes books, brochures, reports, and other textual documents from the Library’s Hugh and Jane Ferguson Seattle Room. The collection also includes 1,200 black-and-white photographs of the fair taken by Werner Lenggenhager, documenting construction work, buildings, exhibits, crowds, and events.
