Swampy the Bear, the official Yesler Swamp mascot, returns again for the second to Yesler Swamp located near the Center for Urban Horticulture (3501 N.E. 41st Street) in Laurelhurst for a Father's Day Nature Walk.
Swampy the Bear will lead a guided nature tour from 1-2pm and 2-3pm.
The event, put on by Friends of Yesler Swamp, will give children the chance to see and learn about native birds and animals as well as help preserve the natural area by helping to spread wood chips on the trail and pulling ivy that threatens Yesler Swamp.
Free barbequed hot dogs, chips and juice will be served.
"A fun-filled outing for parents and kids 3 and up in a REAL SWAMP!" the website says.
To attend the event, meet at the Center for Urban Horticulture for either of the nautre walks and barbeque.
