Karla, with Seattle Parks and Recreation, sent us email to let the community know that registration is now in progress for over 30 summer specialty camps and classes offered at both at Laurelhurst and Magnuson Community Centers for all ages from kids to seniors.
There is a wide selection of kids camps including Nature Camp, Science Camp, Triathlon Camp, Engineering Lego Camp, Roller Derby Camp, Chess Camp, Circus Arts Camp, GreenStage Theatre Camp, Donald Watts Basketball Camp, Yoga Camp, and many others for all ages, from tots to teens.

Chef Camp Ages: 8-12
Create culinary masterpieces with guest chefs and discover a wide variety of foods from around the world and our own back yard. A different chef each day. No need to bring lunch to this camp. Camp Directors: Magnuson Community Center Staff

U.K. Petite Soccer Camp Ages: 3 - 5

Jr. Nature Explorers Ages: 4-5
Join us for our 7th year of fun-filled outdoor adventure at Magnuson Park! Each day includes nature crafts, songs, games, and picnics. Camp fee includes an official Jr. Nature Explorer bandana, and each camp has a different theme and activities - sign up for one or several! Bring a sack lunch and a water bottle. Little People's Dance Camp Ages: 4-6
This summer boys and girls dance, swing, hop and twirl our way around a fun theme. The best part is you can return another week for a new theme. Compare fingerprints and discover the mysteries of DNA as you fine-tune your secret agent skills. Make “brain goo” and check out your bones as you travel the organ trail and uncover the secrets of your own body. The first day of camp, we’ll have a barbecue and float test where campers get to know each other before a week of adventure! The rest of the week, campers will explore the surrounding area of Magnuson Park and Lake Washington on bikes, a rock climbing wall, sail boats and kayaks. Lunch provided the first day. The UW is also offering summer day camps for elementary school students from 1st – 5th grade students. The full day camps include art, science, creative writing and drama classes each day and experience, as well as access to the unique resources and fieldtrips that the UW has to offer.
