Annual 545 Club Campaign for Laurelhurst Elementary School Foundation Gets Underway

The annual campaign for the 545 Club to support the Laurelhurst Elementary School Foundation has started.

Five For Five/ 545 stands for parents, alumni, and community supporters pledging $500 for five years to the Friends Of Laurelhurst School Foundation (FOLF).

The Foundation was established over 10 years ago and "seeks to compliment the efforts of the PTA by building a long term endowment, which will be able to generate predictable funding each year," Brian Hart outgoing 545 Chair told us last year.

Approximately 90% of this year's donations will go to the School Endowment and approximately 10% will go to the existing fund., Brian told us last week.

Brian says that the Foundation is "looking to become one of the only public elementary schools in the entire state that has a permanent endowment which will aid the school in lean budget times in the future."

All participants are treated in the Spring to a big feast and wine tasting at JM Cellars in Woodinville. Last year's event was not only fun, but successful in supporting the Foundation.

To register for the 545 Club, drop off your check (payable to FOLF), along with your email address to the school. Any  donation amount is graciously welcomed.

For questions about the foundation contact Rick Meyers, new Foundation President, at rick@myerspartners.com.
