UW Botanic Gardens Offering Guided Kayak Tours of Arboretum This And Next Week

Wendy, from the UW Botanical Gardens and also a Laurelhurst resident, sent us email about some great kayak tours Wednesday and Thursday of this week and next. There are several opportunites listed below to take this guided kayak tour.

She writes:

"UW Botanic Gardens is partnering with Agua Verde Paddle Club to offer Kayak Tours of the Arboretum.

Please spread the word! All kayaks are doubles, so it’s a great activity to do with your child (ideally age 6 and up, although our flyer says age 12 and up – I’m getting that changed).

Guided kayak tours around Portage Bay and Foster Island are back!

Agua Verde Paddle Club and Cafe’s generous sponsorship is making a larger number of tours possible this summer.

Learn about the history of Foster Island, view wildlife habitat up close, and see part of the Arboretum from a whole new perspective.

Choose a Wednesday or Thursday afternoon or evening then email Jean Robins at jrobins@uw.edu or call 206-685-8033 to sign up, $25 donation/person.

Here are the dates and times:

Wednesday, August 11, 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM

Thursday, August 12, 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM

Wednesday, August 18, 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM

Thursday, August 19, 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM
