National Night Out Against Crime Tonight And Block Parties

Tonight is the annual Seattle Night Out when neighborhoods across the country will close off their streets and neighbors will mingle with eachother all in the name of creating safer neighborhoods against crime.

It's a great evening to catch up with old neighbors, meet new ones and have a great time having dinner together, playing games or whatever your block comes up with for a fun evening.

The Seattle Police Department's Night Out website says about the event, "Night Out is a national Crime Prevention event. It is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, increase neighborhood support in anti-crime efforts, and unite our communities.

"It is a great chance to learn about crime prevention, while also celebrating your community and spending time with your neighbors."

Last year almost 1200 people signed up in Seattle according to the website.

We hope everyone has a great night out on your block!
