Car Wash Sunday To Raise Funds For Junior Softball State Champions

The girls from the NE/RUG (Northeast Seattle, Ravenna, University, Greenlake) Juniors Softball team were out in full force last night at the Salmon Bake handing out fliers for their carwash this Sunday from 1-4pm at the Windermere Auto Service and 76 gas station on Sand Point Way.

The carwash is to raise money to go towards the team's travel expenses for the Regional Tournament next week in Tucson.

Last week the team won the multi-day tournament and were crowned Washington State Champions.

"With that honor comes the opportunity to represent Washington State in the Western Regional All-Star Tournament
in Tucson Arizona starting August 5th," John from NESL (Northeast Seattle Little League) wrote to us in email yesterday.

"We want to be sure every girl and coach can make it to the tournament, so the team is raising funds with the car wash. Stop by and let the girls shine up your car and help send them to Arizona with a generous donation," John wrote.

If you can't make it to the car wash, you can send a check to NESLL (Northeast Seattle Little League) at 4218 NE 89th Street  98115. Donations are tax-deductible.

"No contribution is too small and each will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks for supporting our team of 13-15 year-old athletes! " John says.

Thanks to all who made Sunday's carwash a huge success! The neighborhood is noticeably cleaner as approximately 200 cars came out to be washed. The team greatly appreciates all of the support from the entire community!
