Intruder Near Surber Drive

Early yesterday morning at 2:30am, my son was confronted by an intruder, who was in our detached garage, which is used as an art studio. A man came up our driveway, through the gate, and walked around to the back door of the garage on the 3700 block of 41st Avenue NE.  

My son yelled at him, and chased him out of the yard and down the block on Surber Drive NE. He then called the police, who told him they were too busy to come out. Because my son frequently works in the garage until late, the lights are often left on. A month or two ago, he had his laptop stolen from the garage while he briefly came into the house.  

It is absolutely terrifying that my son was confronted, in the back of our property. He could have been killed. My son is 25 and he’s a big guy, with a loud voice, so the intruder took off.  

I have reported this information to the police.
