Fall Youth Classes At Community Center

Registration is underway for various Fall youth classes at the Laurelhurst Community Center.  Register online, in-person at the Community Center Monday through Friday 9-2pm or by calling 684-7529.

YOUTH FIBER ARTS   

Ages 6-12

Explore fibers arts through techniques such as weaving, felting, and hand knitting. Hands on creative projects will give you the chance to express your creative intuition! No class 11/12.

YOUTH SEWING       

Ages 12-18

Explore the world of sewing on a machine. Hands on creative projects will give you the chance to learn or build on your sewing skills. Create one of a kind projects while learning this invaluable and practical set of skills that will last a lifetime! No class 11/12.

COOKING AROUND THE WORLD       

Ages 8-12

Join us for 5 exciting weeks of cooking around the world! Each week we will whip up 2 recipes from across the globe, from French classics to fresh made tortillas to Indian dosas! By the end of this 5 week series, students will have the practical skills necessary to begin cooking at home, and the knowledge necessary to eat food in a wholesome, nutritional, and sustainable manner. Class prices include all ingredients. Accommodations for dietary restrictions upon request. No class 11/21.

PARKOUR: RUN, JUMP, CLIMB!       

Ages 9-13

Parkour is a movement discipline focused on connecting jumping, vaulting, and climbing movements to create new pathways over, under, and around obstacles in the environment. It's an accessible, non-competitive sport that turns the world into a playground. Classes are instruction-focused, with plenty of games, obstacle courses, and free-play thrown in! No class 11/12.

YOUTH POTTERY       

Ages 5-18

Youth will create a wide variety of clay projects using pinch pot, coil, and slab hand building techniques, as well as throwing on the wheel. Colorful glazes will complete each masterpiece! Whether you're experienced or a beginner, bring your imagination and get ready to have fun being creative with clay!

PIANO LESSONS       

Ages 5-16

Private piano lessons are 30 minutes long, and are taught in a relaxed atmosphere tailored to each child's individual level. The instructor, Ms. Drovetto, has taught piano to over 200 students in the Seattle and North Shore after school music programs. Please call the Laurelhurst Community Center at 206-684-7529 to register for a specific half hour time slot. No class 11/12 and 11/21.
