"Benevolent Bears" School Supply Drive
The Laurelhurst Elementary PTA "Benevolent Bears" Community Outreach Committee is doing a back to school drive. Every year there are students at our school who need the generous support of other families in order to thrive! This year we expect those numbers to increase due to a low income apartment building opening within our school boundaries. On August 22, we will be participating in a Back to School night to welcome families to our community. Students will be able to "shop" for back to school supplies at this event.
We have set up a registry for our students. Most wanted items are backpacks, lunchboxes and water bottles. We have selected a variety so our students can select something which may be personal to them. There will also be a variety of other basic supply items students can take to contribute to their individual classrooms.
Donations can be dropped off at the home of the Community Outreach Coordinator, 4400 48th Avenue NE. or behind the front desk of the Laurelhurst Beach Club. Any items purchased through the Target website will be shipped to the Community Outreach Coordinator's home.
