The 2017 Sustainable NE Seattle's Urban Farmers Group Garden Tour is happening on Saturday from 10-2pm. There is no cost for the tour but a donation will be accepted to help with the operating costs.
The information says:
The Garden Tour is an opportunity to see a variety of sustainable practices and meet the gardeners who are doing something about our concerns for the environment.
On the tour examples of food production, native plantings, forest gardens, hugelkultur, rainwater harvesting, livestock, medicinal plants, and bees are just some of the great ideas you will hear about. There will be eleven gardens to visit that include newer gardens and others that are well established as well as some with livestock.
Participants can print a map here, which shows the locations and garden descriptions and begin at any location.
Sustainable NESeattle is a multi-neighborhood organization (non-profit 501(c)3), working together on various action projects in such areas as food security and growing local food, alternative economy and local investing, emergency preparedness, skill sharing, NES Tool Library, and energy efficiency...trying to effect positive change for our locality, creating a world that works for all.
