UW Botanic Gardens’ Center for Urban Horticulture (3501 NE 41st Street) is holding a class on Wednesday morning called "Manageable Maintenance."

The class runs from 8:30am-noon and the cost is $65.

The information says:

The current trends toward growing more naturalistic landscapes, including rain gardens and wildlife-friendly plantings as well as the addition of food plants to home gardens, are a great boon to the environment and our quality of life.  Correctly maintaining these landscapes to fulfill their functions with good aesthetics can be challenging.
This class will cover essential methods for manageable maintenance, and how to work with nature's cycles to achieve greater results with less effort.  With an emphasis on sustainable practices, we will cover timing, techniques, and design elements as well as specific considerations for special garden types and plants.
