"Katya Kabanova" Free Opera Preview Lecture Tonight At NE Branch Library

Seattle Opera Preview Lecture: 'Katya Kabanova'

Tonight at 6:30pm, the Northeast Branch (6801 35th Avenue NE) of the Seattle Public Library is hosting a preview lecture of Seattle Opera's upcoming production of "Katya."

The information says:
Join Theodore Deacon for an entertaining preview lecture of "Katya Kabanova."   Recently awakened to true love, sheltered Katya longs to be free of her dreary arranged marriage and monstrous mother-in-law. Will her fragile world survive when pent-up passions burst forth?
Overflowing with startlingly original music inspired by Slavic folk songs, Janáček’s romantic tragedy weaves a visceral, dreamlike story of isolation and provincial oppression. Seattle Opera premiere!

This is a free event and is open to the public. Registration is not required. Go here for more information.
