The Laurelhurst Community Club (LCC) is holding its monthly Board meeting open to neighbors tonight at 7pm at the Laurelhurst Community Center in the Fireside Room.
Tonight's meeting will feature a presentation on the UW's plans for development over the next 20 years. Neighbors will learn about how the proposed changes may impact not only the University but also its surrounding neighborhoods.
The 2018 Draft Seattle Campus Master Plan (CMP), the framework for future campus development and EIS were issued on October 5 the and 45-day comment period will end November 21. The draft documents are here.
LCC said about the Master Plan:
It is a very aggressive plan to expand the University's footprint out from down to Boat Street, upzone the U District with tall buildings, and expand along Montlake Boulevard with building structures on the E-1 parking lots which border Laurelhurst.
In addition, there are plans to increase buildings along Mary Gates Memorial Drive. LCC encourages neighbors' to comment, and see the plans tonight, or attend one of the UW presentations on their campus, listed in the below information.
