Salmon Bake Volunteers Needed For September 8th Event At Community Center

Families enjoying the salmon bake last year

The popular annual Salmon Bake is coming up on September 8th at the Laurelhurst Community Center from 5:30-8:30pm.

Cara, with the Community Center, is looking for volunteers to help starting with set-up from 3-6pm and clean-up from 7:30-9pm.

Cara said that "a
long with staff support, we could not do this event without the help of our wonderful volunteers. Teens needing service hours for school are welcome to help."

Volunteers are needed to help with these tasks:

·        Food service
·        Ticket sales
·        Clearing tables
·        Compost/garbage directing (telling people where to put things where)
·        Facilitating carnival games

Contact Cara at Cara.Brown@seattle.gov or call 206-684-7529 with a preferable time and job.

Last year, several hundred people showed up to enjoy the Salmon Bake, with Carnival type games and prizes for children,  face painting, a balloon man, bouncy house, delicious salmon dinner, and live music, all benefitting Seattle Parks programming.
