Friends of Yesler Swamp recently posted this in their Blog:
Yesler Swamp heads for the finish line!
The Yesler Swamp boardwalk is not far from the end! Construction of the entry trail and boardwalk closing the loop through Yesler Swamp is projected by mid-2016.
Restoration is well under way, too, thanks to hundreds of volunteers who work every week replacing invasive blackberry, ivy, and reed canary grass with healthy native trees and shrubs.
Yesler Swamp recently received generous funding from the Peach Foundation, King Conservation District, and Seattle Department of Neighborhoods Matching Fund. And more than one hundred friends and neighbors have contributed over $65,000 over the life of the Yesler Swamp project.
But completing the loop trail through Yesler Swamp needs EVERYONE'S s help. We need YOUR support to make this happen!
Please donate NOW to help reach the finish line!
You can donate either through the Seattle Parks Foundation or the UW Foundation. You can also mail your check to Friends of Yesler Swamp, Center for Urban Horticulture, 3501 NE 41st St., Seattle 98105. Any way you choose to direct your gift, you'll be helping Yesler Swamp!!
