Neighbor Reminder To Clean Up After Dogs At Park

A Laurelhurst Blog reader sent in these comments:

Please clean up after your dog!  I was stunned the other day when a dog owner/soccer parent violated multiple rules at the park.  The capper was the choice to groom the very hairy dog and leave multiple large piles of hair tuft strewn on the field – please clean it up!
I asked twice and the parent chose to leave it all laying around.  Back in the day I remember carefully brushing the dog in the backyard and making sure the hair went in the refuse.  Let's treat the park like it was our own house please!
For those who have dogs it is also tempting to bring dogs along to the sidelines, but a reminder to everyone that it is against the city rules and the soccer club rules to have dogs at/near the practice field.
It is a privilege not a right to have access to the field! If you have a dog at the park bring your plastic bag and clean up your dog hair!

Here is the list of City Municipal Codes and corresponding violations for not picking up dog waste with fine amounts imposed by the City of Seattle:

Offenses Related to Safety and Sanitation
$109 Allowing accumulation of feces SMC 9.25.082 (A)
$54 Not removing feces from another’s property SMC 9.25.082 (B)
$54 Not having equipment to remove feces  SMC 9.25.082 (C)

And here are the Seattle Animal Control codes.
