Variety Of Week-end Events At Magnuson

 
Here are some events happening at Magnuson over the next few days:


Seattle Audubon Neighborhood Bird Walks - Saturday 9AM

Roller Derby League Tournament, Building 30
The best roller derby leagues in the Northwest will compete in a tournament to qualify for the national championships of roller derby, presented by USA Roller Sports (USARS) .  Tournaments begin at 8 a.m. daily and tickets can be purchased at the door for $15 a day or $25 for a week-end  pass.

The current national champions are Washington’s own Oly Rollers, will defend their title against Antagonist Roller Derby, Seattle Sonic Boom, the Atomic City Rollergirls, Port T’Orchard Roller Derby, Toxic 253, and the Underground Derby League. USARS is recognized by the International Olympic Committee, and the winner of this tournament will qualify for the National USARS Championships, to be held in Tulsa, OK; Oct. 25-27.

National tournament. Held at Mickey Merriam Field #12.  Tickest are $20 in advance or $25 at the door, kids under 16 years old are free.


 

Blues For Food Festival- Saturday noon-9pm, Magnuson Amphitheatre and P-Patch
 

All ages event with food and music with proceeds going to Seattle’s Giving Garden Network, which grows over 20 tons of GMO-free, organic produce every year for donation to city food banks, shelters.
 

Activities:

•variety of blues bands from noon-6pm
•food by local food truck vendors Where Ya At Matt, Snout & Co. and Parfait Ice Cream.•visit interactive children’s garden•learn how P-Patch gardeners are educating and inspiring all age groups about the joys of organic
