Friends of Yesler Swamp is having a work party tomorrow from 10am-noon to weed and water. Meet at the east parking lot of the Center for Urban Horticulture (3501 NE 41st Street.)
The invitation says:
Are you hot and thirsty in the hot weather? Think of those newly planted native competing with invasive plants with no water except for what we can give them!
Friends of Yesler Swamp are environmental stewards for the UW student 2012-2013 Upland and Wetland Capstone project. Last spring, the students project cleared invasive species and plantied native plants.Our job is make sure the plants stay alive and well and the area stays clear of invasive blackberry and English ivy.
