Tonight is the "Sip & Swirl tasting group" featuring Zinfandel at Laurelhurst Wine Merchants (3711 NE 45th Street) starting at 6:30pm. The cost is $10 per person.
The information says:
The best way to learn a little more about wine is to get together a tasting/discussion group with some like minded people and that's what we do the 2nd Wednesday of each month. We put together a few wines with a theme, taste, discuss and hopefully learn something along the way. And it's fun! LWM is a no snobs allowed sort of store.
And tomorrow is "Thirsty Thursday Tasting" from 5-7pm.
The wines to be feautured are:
2011 Tortoise Creek Viognier
2011 Gramona Gessami
2009 Lafage Cuvee Nicolas Grenache
2011 Black Slate Porerra
Laurelhurst Wine Merchants also offers a selection of quality cheeses and meats from around the world supplied by The Resident Cheesemonger.
The owners of Laurelhurst Wine Merchants are Richard and Lynda Chapman who told us that they have grown to love wine during their travels around the world and decided to open a store along with Janet, the store manager, who is an ISG accredited sommelier and has been a part of the wine scene in the Seattle area for a number of years.
