The Northeast branch (6801 35th Ave. NE), of the Seattle Public Library is having its annual poetry contest in honor of April's National Poetry Month and the public is encouraged to submit an original one-page poem in any form to the library by April 30th.
The information says:
Adults, teens, and children can win prizes, publication in a chapbook, and the chance to read their poem aloud at our Poetry Contest Awards Ceremony and Reading at the Northeast Library on Tuesday, May 21, 6-8 p.m.
Everyone is invited to the awards ceremony to see who wins, cheer on their family and friends, and hear some really good poetry.
As time allows, there will also be an open mike where everyone present can read their own original poem.Entry forms are available at the Northeast Library. For more information call 206-684-7539.
