Daffoodils Blooming Thanks To Brownie Troop's Volunteer Work In 2009

The median near Sun Park (corner of NE 47th Street and 47th Avenue NE) is full of daffodils, as Jean Amick, one of the volunteer gardeners told us, thanks to 3rd Graders in Brownie Troop #42529 from Laurelhurst Elementary School, who in 2009, planted bulbs in the traffic triangle, as well as swept debris from the curbs and picked up leaves in the garden.

 Jean wrote to us:
The traffic triangle is still beautiful and appreciated by the neighborhood, the school folks, and complements SUN Park.
This lovely photo (above) taken last week is the hard work of the Brownie Troop 3 1/2 years ago. The daffodils are still alive and well.
The girls are now in middle school but their efforts weeding and sweeping and planting daffodils to beautify the neighborhood linger on.
