This week-end, Dogs for Cures, a Gig Harbor-based nonprofit dedicated to training medical service dogs for those living with diabetes, is holding a Diabetic Alert Dog Workshop, at Talaris Conference Center.
The weekend-long event will feature a series of workshops and presentations, led by well-known diabetes educators and master dog trainers, who will educate patients and caretakes of those with diabetes on the benefits of working with a diabetic alert dogs, ranging from How to Avoid Hypoglycemia: Prevention and Treatment to Rights and Responsibilities of a Service Dog Owner/Handler.
