Ming-Ming Tung-Edelman, a Laurelhurst resident, sent us this email:
My children Anna (10 years old) and Gabriel Edelman (8 years old) along with their friends Madeline Vanderberg, Elizabeth Vanderberg and Marco Aaronson sold handmade cards to Laurelhurst neighbors recently to raise money for the American Red Cross to benefit Superstorm Sandy relief.
They made cards ranging themes from Thanksgiving, election, birthday and huskies, The cards were made with different media - pastel, color pencils, water color and paper cut.
Our generous neighbors responded well to this great cause; the children raised $193.86 for the Red Cross after selling the cards for one afternoon.
This is our way to help despite being 3000 miles away.
