The Laurelhurst Community Center is offering a Self Defense class on Saturday from 9am - noon for ages 10 and older and will be taught by Michael Castilleja.
The information says that the class, which is not a Martial Arts or MMA class, teaches practical and pure self-defense skills that can be easily learned and applied.
Michael has had experience in many contact sports, including wrestling. He also was in the U.S. Marine Corps, and served at a county jail in the capacity of Sergeant in charge of training and investigations.
The S.A.F.E. instruction includes:
· Self motivation· Physical control
· Situational Awareness
· Hands on training
Class fee is $10 per couple or a donation. The profits from the class will support the Laurelhurst Teen Fund.
