Emily Bishton, a Blog reader, is holding a free gardening class titled "Natural Pest, Weed and Disease Control, Smart Watering" tomorrow from 7-9 p.m at the, University Unitarian Church (6556 35th Avenue NE). The class is for NE Seattle residents and is sponsored by Seattle Public Utilities and Local Hazardous Waste Management Program, King County.
Emily told us that she thinks "the class is very timely and relevant, given the City's priorities on food security for all income levels, resource conservation, and sustainable neighborhoods."
Emily is a landscape professional and educator with many years of garden consultation, design, installation, and maintenance experience of food gardens and ornamental landscapes. Emily also teaches gardening and nature programs at Magnuson Park, is a longtime NE Seattle resident, and knows the area well.
Participants can register here. There will be raffle prizes and refreshments are provided. For more information call the Garden Hotline at 206-633-0224 or email help@gardenhotline.org.
