Car Prowl And Possible Attempted Home Break-In Reported A Few Blocks From Laurelhurst Elementary School

We received this email from a reader:

On the block of 46th Avenue NE and NE 50th Street there were three late night car break-ins reported in late April. A glove box and jockey box were ransacked. 

Also, upon investigation of strange noise, it was noticed that prowling took place on at least two properties on this block. One home had a backyard gate that was opened. 

An unattended car with the motor running was seen. 

Most of the neighbors on the block use email so they have been notified to be on the alert and empty vehicles of anything interesting or valuable and to double check doors are locked. 

We feel the homes are being cased.  

All neighbors have been advised to report all suspicious activity and minor crimes to the Police as documentation is critical for police patrol coverage.
