Beginning Water Color Classes Start Tomorrow At Center For Urban Horticulture

Botanical artist and instructor Kathleen McKeehen, will teach a series of five weekly classes starting tomorrow on beginning Botanical Watercolor at the Center for Urban Horticulture (3501 NE 4st Street).

Kathleen will show studens how the application of controlled washes and the dry-brush technique produce images that are three-dimensional and aesthetically appealing.

The class description says:
The classes will include techniques in measurement, drawing, and understanding how light reveals form, along with practice in color mixing. The application of controlled washes and dry-brush technique will contribute further, producing an image that is three-dimensional, accurate, and aesthetically appealing--the goal of botanical painting--and equally effective in painting other subjects realistically. Beginners are welcome, and students with previous instruction can take on new subjects under supervision. A list of supplies will be provided with registration.
Classes meet in the Douglass classroom from 7-9:30pm through October 26th and the fee is $170.  Registration information is here.
