Varlamos Restaurant Outside Wall Tagged With Graffiti as Well As Other Places In The Neighborhood

The wall on the north side of  Varlamos Restaurant (3617 NE 45th Street) was unfortunately tagged with graffiti, night before last, along with other areas of Laurelhurst.

One of our staffers snapped this photo yesterday morning with two workers already painting over the graffit at Varlamos.

According to the Graffiti Nuisance Ordinace, businesses must remove graffiti within 10 days.

New graffiti also was seen at Laurelhurst Elementary School near the south playground at the corner of NE 45th and 46th Avenue NE, as well as on a sign leading into the Park, areas along, 47th Avenue NE near the school , Kattermans on Sand Point Way and also on 41st Avenue and Surber Drive.

Terri Johnson, Seattle Police Departmet North Precinct Crime Previention Coordinator, told our staff that ths is property damage and should be reported to SPD so the Graffiti Detective gets a copy of it, and hence could be used  in prosecution of the taggers.

She added that to report this crime, call 625-5011 press #2, then press #8  to get to the non-emergency number  "which can be used since a rapid patrol response is not needed."

To report graffiti  for removal on public property, or graffiti that has not been removed from private property, use the Graffiti Online Report Form or call the Graffiti Report Line at (206) 684-7587.
