St. Stephens Episopal Church (4805 NE 45th Street) is having another in their series of "Evensong" services on Sunday at 5pm.
"Evensong is a chanted, lay-led service that has broad appeal to people of different faiths," Leslie Martin, Director of Music at the Church told us.
Sunday's Evensong is a special treat as St. Stephen’s Choir and baroque orchestra will join forces with the Northwest’s premiere Boychoir for a unique period instrument performance of Georg Friedrich Händel’s inspiring “‘Dettingen’ Te Deum” performed on Baroque Period Instruments.
Other featured music includes, “Magnificat and Nunc dimittis” (written for St. Paul’s Cathedral, London) by Herbert Howells.
The service will be preceded by a musical preview in the main church from 4:30-4:50p, which will explore the meaning and context of the work.
St. Stephen’s offers its monthly Evensong service at 5 PM on the first or second Sunday of each month from October through June.
St. Stephen’s also welcomes experienced singers to participate in the chorus. For more information, please contact
