Storytime at Laurelhurst's Miller Library on Saturday

Miller Library, located at the UW Botanic Gardens (3501 NE 41st Street), in Laurelhurst is having another storytime on Saturday from 10:30-11:15am.

The monthly storytime, running through June, begins with stories followed by activities that celebrate gardens, plants, and nature. It is geared for children ages 3 to 8 and their families, but all ages are welcome the website says.

This month's theme is "Start Something Wonderful."  The information says:

Can you do any gardening in January, or are you stuck indoors? This month’s story program deals with cabin fever. We'll also learn how young gardeners can get ahead on their spring gardens, starting new plants using the magical science of propagation and a little imagination..

Here are the books that will be read:
MY DAY IN THE GARDEN by Miela Ford
THIS BOWL OF EARTH by Jan Marks
THE CURIOUS GARDEN by Peter Brown

After the stories, you can visit the program room for a hands-on project and bring home a jasmine or forsythia start for your garden or window sill.
