Laurelhurst Elementary Has New Reader Board To Announce Events

Check out the new reader board at Laurelhurst Elementary School. It was installed yesterday on the corner of NE 45th Street and 46th Avenue NE.

A parent at the school, who spearheaded the effort, told us the readerboard is "a way to relay messages to our school community and neighbors about school events.  It will only contain messages pertinent to our school and all messages will be approved by the school staff."

The parent told us the design of the board is the simplest possible with the school name and logo and room for the messages and it will not be lit.  It is 3 1/2 feet tall by 5' wide and is attached by steel posts set in the concrete.

Susan, administrative assistant at the school told us "We're received a thumbs up from a neighbor already."
