Register Today to Hear Nancy Pearl Speak at Event Sponsored by NEST

Today is the deadline to register to hear Nancy Pearl speak on November 7th from 5-8pm at Temple Beth Am (2632 NE 80th Street.)

The event is a fundraiser for NEST (North East Seattle Together) and the invite says "This event will celebrate NEST with our NE Seattle neighbors and friends while helping us raise an additional $20,000 to meet our challenge grant from the Horizons Foundation."

"NEST is a grass-roots community dedicated to ensuring that as we grow older, we can continue to live safely and confidently in our own homes, in the neighborhoods we love," the website says.

Here is a post we did in June about the organization.

"Nancy Pearl speaks about the pleasures of reading to library and community groups throughout the world and comments on books regularly on NPR's Morning Edition," the NEST website says.

Her newest book in her Book Lust series, Book Lust to Go: Recommendations for Travelers, Vagabonds and Dreamers, will come out in the Fall.

A buffet dinner including appetizers, coffee, tea and dessert will be served with catering by Sunflour CafĂ© and Bakery. And the Eckstein Middle School Jazz Combo wiill be playing. A no-host bar will be provided.

Here is the invitation and registration information.
