Public Hearing Cancelled This Morning For Potential Restaurant at Magnuson Park

One of our readers let us know that the scheduled public hearing this morning for the University of Washington to request a zoning change to allow for a restaurant in Building 9 at Magnuson Park has been cancelled.

Here is the post we did on Tuesday of this week regarding this potential development.

We sent email to Philip Rowe, Legislative Aide to Councilmember Sally Bagshaw to ask about this recent cancellation and he responded this morning:

"The University of Washington rescinded their interest in the redevelopment of Building 9 at Magnuson Park. As such, Council Bill 116869, relating to amending Seattle Municipal Code to allow additional commercial uses in that portion of the Sand Point Overlay District, is no longer moving forward."
