Yesterday about 25 little athletes showed up for the Community Center's special event called Kids Olympics.
One of the kids got the opportunity to light the torch (pictured above).
Then the variety of activities started, including carrying a pitcher of water from one table to another withot spilling, hopping from one matt to another, hopping between hoola hoops, walking with a balloon between the legs, throwing soccer balls and rockets as far as you could, and an obstacle course with a ribbon to run through at the finish line.
After the kids headed inside to make their own medals and torches, followed by a big spread of healthy snacks.
Community Center Staff handed out two different awards to wear around the neck and a trophy for each proud child.
And then the tired little Laurelhurst Olympians headed home.
