Major renovation, construction and final inspections have been completed at Hamilton International Middle School, the Seattle Public school that includes the Laurelhurst neighborhood in its bounday map.
The above picture shows view of Hamilton's main entrance foyer.
Hamilton staff began working in the renovated building beginning last week and the school will begin at 8:05 on September 8th.
The public is invited to the ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday at 9am to help celebrate the completion of the Hamilton project. If you are planning on attending, call Dick Lee at (206) 252-0476 or email him at rjlee@seattleschools.org to RSVP. People will meet at the flagpole at the corner of North 41 Street and Densmore Avenue North at 8:45 a.m.
And there will be an all comunity celebration on Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. This will be an opportunity for the community to tour the renovated historical school building as well as the new gym, which adds 8,334 sq. ft. of indoor community recreation space, and the new Wallingford Park interface, with new school/community amphitheater. Refreshments will be served.
You can visit the BEX website to see construction photos, celebration information and more.
This project is part of Seattle Public Schools Building Excellence III (BEX III) and was approved by Seattle voters in 2007.
