The Seattle Public Library Wants to Hear From You

The Library currently is running a city-wide survey for patrons to share their thoughts and ideas about Library services and priorities and help plan the Library's future.

The survey will be available through this Sunday, May 16th.

The library first brought the discussion to the Northgate branch in March during its Citywide Conversation in which patrons gave input on what future llibrary services they would like to see as well as the library’s role in the community.

This is all part of a larger strategic planning process throughout this year which will "serve as a blueprint for how we plan for future services, as well as how we prioritize existing resources," the website says.

Erica Delavan, Children's Services Librarian, at Northeast Branch, recently sent out this email:

Hello Northeast Library Friends,

The Seattle Public Library is trying to plan for the future and improve services. This is a time of great change in how people find information and what they look for from the library. Our Community Survey runs from now until May 16th, and we would love to have input from everyone we serve, including parents, grandparents, caregivers, teachers, and even kids and teens.

We are asking people to take a few minutes to help guide future library services, by going to www.spl.org to complete the online survey. Both library users and non-users are welcome to tell us what they think.

Also, please tell your friends and colleagues about this survey. The more input we receive, the better Seattle Public Library will be able to serve our community in the years to come. Thanks so much for your help!
