Seattle Public Library Open House and Community Discussion

Tomorrow night, March 2nd, from 6-8pm, at the Northgate Branch, Seattle Public Libraries will be holding one of their five "citywide conversations" in which the library wants your input on what you like or don’t like about the library, what would you like to see changed, input on its long term goals and how it should be using its new technology.

These conversations are "designed to have participants 'think big' and use their creativity in considering new models, services and potentially new roles for the Library."

The SPL website says, "The Seattle Public Library is embarking on a strategic planning process to plan for future services. This project will engage the community and Library staff throughout 2010 to explore the future of the Library. The project is made possible by a grant from The Seattle Public Library Foundation.

The Strategic Plan will serve as a blueprint for how we plan for future services, as well as how we prioritize existing resources."

If you aren't able to attend one of the five Citywide conversations, there are other ways to give input in the next few months - surveys, focus groups, public forums and finally reviewing the Draft Plan.
