Seattle Musical Theater located in Magnuson, our neighboring community, is offering a special Laurelhurst discount for theater tickets for their latest production, Company, through the end of this week.
Mention "Laurelhurst" and you get a second ticket for free after purchasing one at regular price.
Dan, the production manager, wrote to us, "Although we have advertised in the LCC newsletter, we really want to do a better job of connecting with our immediate neighbors, many of whom remain unaware that we have been here in the community for 5 years now. So as a start, we want to extend a special invitation to them. "
He adds, "We hire local designers, actors and crew and operate on a budget funded by ticket sales and donations. We need our neighbor's support!"
Seattle Music Theater (formerly known as Civic Light Opera) is in its 32nd season. They performed at Jane Addams School for 25 years and have been at Magnuson for the last 5 years.
They are the only large theatre in Seattle's NorthEast neighborhood and the only one in Seattle to produce only musicals.
Stephen Sondheim's musical, Company, the current showing, "follows Bobby, a perpetual bachelor in a group of married friends. Set in 1970s New York, it explores the dynamics of relationships and love as Bobby struggles to make a commitment," the website says.
Company is showing tomorrow, Thursday, at 7:30pm, Friday & Saturday at 8:00pm and Sunday at 2:00pm.

I saw the show opening weekend and thought it was excellent! I think it's great to have a professional theater right in our own backyard!
