Friday is Deadline for Contributions to Laurelhurst School Auction

The Laurelhurst School Auction is just around the corner on March 13th.

And Tonya Clegg, a current Laurelhurst parent and one of the auction committee members, wanted to let everyone know that this Friday, February 5th, is the last day to submit items for the auction.

She writes, "The Laurelhurst Elementary School auction is an annual event open to all friends and families of the school. This year's event will be held March 13th at the HUB Ballroom.

Proceeds from the auction fund all of the wonderful and vital programs that have been stripped away due to school district budget cuts: art instruction, music instruction, math tutors, reading specialists, etc.

The school is public and non-profit so all donations are tax deductible. There are also opportunities for advertising and sponsorship.

Over 400 people attend the auction so it is great exposure for professionals and businesses.

Our website explains the auction and procurement process in full detail. Donations can be made on-line or forms can be down loaded."

And in checking out the website, there are already over 75 contributors, maybe of them our neighborhood businesses - Amanda Touch of Color, Varlamos, Katterman's and more.

The website says: "This is the PTA’s top event for raising money for the many programs and needs we fund. Please plan to attend! The success of our school depends on your support and involvement. We can’t do it without YOU!"

Sounds like it will be a fun evening for a great cause!
