October is Fire Prevention Month and there are always some fun events for families.
There is the very popular Firefighter Story Time at many Seattle Public Libraries. The closest branch iis the University Branch, will hold their Firefighter Storytime on October 8th at 10:30am. The firefighters arrive at the library on their fire truck, read a few books and talk about fire safety and prevention. Then the firemen show the kids their firefighting gear. After the kids get to hop on the fire truck and get a sticker.
And tomorrow the Seattle Fire Department is having a kick-off event at the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Admission to the museum will be free. Visitors can check out the antique fire trucks, a modern ladder truck and see arson dog demonstrations with Henny the Arson Dog. Inside the museum, kids can talk with firefighters about what they do, hear some stories and learn abou fire safety.
