Patti Payne's Cool Pads: Laurelhurst home with 'crazy beautiful views' lists for $4.35M

A Laurelhurst home worthy of the cover of Architectural Digest is on the market for $4.35 million. It is owned by investment manager Charlie Frischer and his wife Abigail Francis, who have lived there with their two children for nine years, since the youngest was 2 years old.

Windermere Brokers Joie Gowan and Katharine Gibson have the listing.

Frischer says the traditional 1929 home, with its six bedrooms, seven baths and sport court, is “remarkably well designed. The views from almost every room are stunning — crazy beautiful views of Lake Washington, the Cascade mountains and Mount Rainier. We can see pretty much down the lake from the I-90 and 520 bridges and Kirkland across the water.”

Frischer describes the home, with its walls of windows, as flooded with light. “Light is everything in Seattle,” he says.

The large chef's kitchen is a magnet for family and friends. The open floor plan includes French doors that lead out to a spacious deck and private yard for easy entertaining.

The primary bedroom suite, complete with fireplace, window seat, spa bath and dressing room, is a self-contained sanctuary on the main floor.

There are two separate garages that can accommodate multiple cars, boats, kayaks and more.

This was the home of the late Blake Nordstrom and his wife, Molly Nordstrom. “They lived there for 18 years before we bought it,” Frischer said.

Frischer and Francis have moved to another location on the lake. “I had to twist my wife’s arm to move to Lake Washington. She is still depressed about leaving,” he says.
