The annual neighborhood Salmon Bake, usually taking place the Thursday evening right after Labor day, has been cancelled this year.
Several hundred neighbors and families showed up every year to enjoy the Salmon Bake, along with carnival type games and prizes, face painting, a balloon man, bouncy house, and live music, all benefitting Seattle Parks programming.
Several community businesses, along with the Laurelhurst Community Center and Lifelong Recreation programs partnered to make the even successful, as well High School volunteers.
Cara, Laurelhurst Community Center Recreation Coordinator, told the Laurelhurst Blog:
For the first time in our 54-year history, the Laurelhurst Salmon Bake will be cancelled this year. Due to COVID restrictions on gatherings of over 5 people for the indefinite future, the Salmon Bake is postponed until the Thursday after Labor Day, September 9, 2021.
We miss you, and wish we could see you at the Community Center! As soon as we get the go ahead, we plan to be back offering classes and programs for all ages.
