Student Doing Food Drive This Week-end

Seventeen-year old neighbor, Anders, is concluding his Food Drive for the University Food Bank this week-end that he started about nine weeks ago, when he learned that donations to food banks are down by 75% and up to 2 million Washington residents may need food assistance.

Anders has been distributing fliers throughout the neighborhood requesting donations and doing porch pickups.  He has received nine car loads of food donations and also has collected over $9500 in checks.

Donations can still be made this week-end and then Anders will help friends organize food drives in their respective neighborhoods.

Anders told the Laurelhurst Blog Staff:
If anyone reading this has donated before and would like to donate again, feel free to do so!
You can drop off donations at my house: 3837 48th Ave NE, email anders@pohlmann.net or text 206-992-7220 for a pick up.
Thanks for your help supporting this project. We are so fortunate to live in such a kind and generous community.
