October Laurelhurst Real Estate Summary



Kim Dales has provided this neighborhood real estate activity report for the month of October:

Although the real estate market in general is remaining strong, our median sales price, $1,712,500 this October, has decreased from October 2018's Median sales price of $2,250,000. Also, days on market has greatly increased from 5 Cumulative Days on Market for home sales in October 2018 to 75 CDOM this October.

 
I feel that the market has slowed but sellers feel their homes' value is higher than our current market can bare. This results in price reductions and ultimately lower closing prices and more days on the market. 
 
As we approach winter, and a slowing of newly listed homes, things to think about to make your home market ready include, cleaning gutters, touch of paint, pruning trees away from your home, and a big ticket item if you have the financial ability and the space is adding a master bedroom to your home if you don't have one.
